What I'm Wearing Today
This gorgeous dress slip top thing is by Free People, my absolute favorite clothing company. It's sort of like lingerie that you can wear out of the house and I have to say, if you have not worn lingerie as an outfit you should. It is awesome. I love the satisfaction of having someone compliment me on an outfit made of nightwear. It makes me feel like I am getting away with something fantastic.
I'm wearing this slip dress today over a simple black tank dress from Forever 21 (to everyone who says black and navy don't go together, you're wrong) that I bought a couple years ago, a black cardigan and these sandals by Nicole.
I am not sporting the confused stare and shiny underpinnings.

Ink
I very clearly remember having a conversation with my then-boyfriend and his mom when I was about 18 about how tacky I thought tattoos were. Both then boyfriend and I would never get a tattoo. His mom thought we were being a bit judgmental but we were 18 and knew everything.
Fast forward six years and now I have four tattoos. To be fair I'm not brave enough for color so all mine are in white ink but, with my beyond pale skin that actually ends up looking pretty cool. My most recent one is of the Portland skyline. I was inspired by the lovely Lana's Philly skyline tattoo. I've wanted a Portland tattoo for awhile but couldn't really decide on anything. Once I saw Lana's amazing ink though I knew that was what I wanted. So, with her blessing I went forward.
I sketched what I wanted using this photo. Sean Lanusse at Infinity Tattoo took my very rough drawing and turned it into what is now permanently on my arm. And I love it.

Brothers by The Black Keys
I am currently obsessed with this album. It starts out with a sexy upbeat sort of vibe then transitions into a more melancholy blues feel. The transition is so natural you almost forget that the halves have such different sounds. There is also not a single song not worth listening to here.
Meet Javier
This is my cat. His name is Javier (pronounced ha-VEE-air). The two of us haven't been friends for long, maybe about nine months, and before that I was never a cat person. I always pictured myself with a giant furry dog who would jump up on me and nearly push me over. The thing is, I live in an apartment, and a small one at that, a studio. I don't think having any kind of dog, let alone a giant one, would be fair or practical. Half the time I worry Javier is bored living in my apartment but then he spends ten minutes bolting from the kitchen across my apartment onto the windowsill and back again and I decide he is far too easily entertained to be bored.
